The Whole Process About Mars.

In Week 5 of Term 2 our class focussed on how to write great information reports.
We wrote about the planet Mars as we are in the middle of learning about Planet Earth and Beyond. Learning how to write a great information report will help us with our self-guided topics in a few weeks time.
Here is my writing, after I have self-assessed and peer-assessed my work.

The Whole Process about Mars.
Introduction:

Mars is the 4th planet that orbits around the sun . What do Mars look like? Could it be possible for human beings to live on Mars? Who named Mars? How many days, months and km can Mars orbit the earth? Have ever wondered facts about Mars,  well here is the great report you’ve came too .

Appearance:

Did you know Mars is estimated to be one ninth heavy heavier than the earth? It is also known as a red planet as known as a frozen pole. It is also has a thin atmosphere.  Did you also know that it is easy for Mars to be bright to recognize,  so that it could be a orange colour to be seen. Foreseen, that mars also have sand storms that causes lots of sickness.

Could Human live on Mars?

Have you ever wonded if humans could live on mars? Well it is uninhabitable for humans to live on mars, it is also very hot in afternoon times and very cold at night times. Despite, mars is no magnetic ground so then you can fall by living on mars as long as you have a astronaut suit, astronaut suits can be hard to float in. An important thing, in  hundred years, mars had a thick atmosphere, so then the water flowed on its surface. Mars can also cause skin cancers and that mars is hardly have any oxygen.

Mars Orbit :

Furthermore, Mars takes 687 days to orbit the sun. Moreover, Mars is also approximately 227.9 kilometers away from the sun. Despite Mars takes 227,900,000 Kilometers away from the sun. The Radius of mars is 3,390 kilometres.  Mars spin on its axis for 24 hours.  And Mars is 225,300,000 kilometers.

Even though Mars is our closest neighbour, its orbit is very different. A Martian day (or how long it takes to rotate once on its axis) is longer than an Earth day and equals 24 hours and 37 minutes. This is because it spins slower than our planet. Moreover, a year on Mars is the same as 687 Earth days! Imagine if you lived on Mars, you would be almost half the age you were on Earth!

Conclusion:

Now you have information about mars in my guide you can also find out more information if you visit:
Thankyou for reading my Report about Mars.

My Information Report Success Criteria: What Is Mars Processed About It’s Appearance, If Humans Could Live On Earth And It’s Orbit.
Self

My heading:

  • is an interesting title (I might have phrased the title as a question.)

My opening paragraph:

  • says what my report is about in a clear way

  • gives a general “classification” – and maybe a technical classification

  • outlines the main features of the subject

My main paragraphs:

  • have sub-headings where helpful

  • have clear topic sentences  (topic and main point)

  • are organised so that each paragraph is about a different aspect of the subject

  • give detailed information (factual descriptions)

  • include specific, technical vocabulary

  • are generally balanced (have a similar amount of detail about the different aspects I write about)

  • may have helpful: tables, pictures and/or diagrams to add information

My end paragraph:

  • draws the report together/sums up my main points

  • may give a personal opinion; ask the reader a question and/or tell the reader where further information may be found

  1. Kia ora Alaskah,
Thank you for sharing your learning about Mars. I can see that you have done a lot of research through the amount of facts you have included.

    Your next learning steps are:
    1) Writing a clear topic sentence with two parts (topic and main idea) for each paragraph
    2) Reading over your work and making sure it makes sense. Proofreading is an important part of writing and will help you to become a better writer.
